After school care for Golden Sands Primary School children.
The Village is a small after school care provider, and we are pleased to limit the number of children to 27 that we care for at any given time. This enables us to foster friendships, provide an enriching and nurturing environment, and encourage a relaxed and happy atmosphere.
As such when a waitlist is in operation, priority will be given to children who have transitioned from our early childcare centre, or have siblings within our early childcare centre.
After school care – 2.30pm to 5.30pm:
Our staff will collect your child or children from Golden Sands Primary School and walk them back to The Village each day. A nutritious afternoon tea will be provided and may include items such as yummy home baking, fresh fruit, crackers, cheese, and sandwiches.
The Village Fees: The cost is $20 per child per day for after school care.
Some families will be eligible for a child care subsidy from Work and Income New Zealand. For further information, please call Work and Income on 0800 774 004 or visit their website www.workingforfamilies.govt.nz.
If you have two or more children from the same family attending the Happy Feet Early Childhood Centre or The Village programme for three or more days per week, we are pleased to offer a 5% discount to your eldest child.
What to bring:
We ask parents during the summer months to include a sunhat in your child’s backpack. We also ask that raincoats are kept in backpacks all year round as we do walk children to and from school. We do have some umbrellas available for times when children are without a raincoat. If your child requires a special sunscreen please include it in their backpack and advise our team.
Activities available for after school care: Our wonderful team will be on hand to co-ordinate activities which may include:
Arts and crafts
Games and puzzles
We have carefully chosen team members who have experience caring for children, an exemplary character, and are mature and trustworthy. We will always have at least two team members on duty each day to provide the best possible care and environment for your children.
The Village aims to make communication with parents as open, regular and informative as possible. We have a variety of available means which we maintain which include the day book, daily discussions, notice boards, newsletters, and online communication.
